some relevant info:

I never sell gold or silver plated jewelry. I try to limit my chemical use wherever I can and the plating process includes dipping metal in a solution containing cyanide (cyanide!)

While gold-plating is a cost efficient way to own gold-colored jewelry it will likely reveal the base metal after a few wears. I prefer to make jewelry that can be passed down and loved for a long time :) 

​

Instead of plating I opt to use metals such as 10/14k solid gold, sterling silver, gold-fill, and occasionally base metals such as brass/bronze. 

​

Sterling silver, brass and bronze will naturally tarnish but the shine can always be brought back! I also recommend keeping your jewelry in an airtight container to keep your jewelry super shiny for a long time.
